U.S. equity markets ended the week with little change, masking underlying volatility driven by shifting expectations on the Federal Reserve’s next move and continued ambiguity around the future of artificial intelligence. While Monday’s rally lifted optimism early in the week, a late-week selloff reversed most gains, resulting in marginal movements: the S&P 500 gained 0.1%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.4%, and the NASDAQ declined 0.4%.

Market breadth was weak across the board, especially in mid- and small-cap segments, with mid-cap growth falling 2.8% on the week. The largest gains came from healthcare and energy sectors, while consumer discretionary stocks were notably lower.
